Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to billing, licensing limits, device management, and extension features below.
What is the difference between Free and Pro?
The Free version includes essential inspection tools: Typography Inspector, Spacing Bounds Viewer, PX/REM Converter, and Heading hierarchy outlines.
The Pro License unlocks the Live HTML & CSS Editor, full-page scrolling screenshots, WCAG Text Spacing & reflow validators, background-to-foreground color contrast checks, customized context menus, and custom hotkey bindings.
How many devices can I use my Pro license on?
Each license allows you to activate the extension on up to 5 concurrent devices (for example, your work laptop, home PC, personal laptop, and testing machines). If you attempt to link a 6th device, the extension will display a limit-reached prompt directing you to your dashboard to free up a slot.
What happens if I sell my laptop or lose access to a device?
We've got you covered in two ways:
- Self-Serve Deregistration: Simply log into your Web Dev Kit user dashboard, find the "Registered Devices" section, and click "Deregister" next to the old device hash. This instantly frees up a slot.
- Auto-Expiration: If a device is inactive (not seen online) for more than 90 days, it will automatically expire and release its slot, requiring no manual action from you.
Is this a recurring subscription?
No, we do not believe in monthly or yearly recurring charges. Web Dev Kit is offered as a one-time payment. You buy it once, and you get lifetime access to all Pro features of the extension without any future bills.
How do I link the Chrome extension to my account?
Open the Web Dev Kit extension panel in your browser, click the Activate Pro button on the header, and enter the email and password you used during checkout. Once successfully authorized, the extension will instantly unlock all Pro features.
